Empirical analysis of value divergence across 10,000 English names

Abstract. A dataset-driven comparison of Chaldean and Pythagorean letter-value systems across a corpus of 10,000 common English given names. We report distributional properties of the computed Destiny numbers under each system and identify the letter positions most responsible for downstream divergence.

Abstract

The Chaldean and Pythagorean systems disagree on the assignment of seventeen of the twenty-six letters of the Roman alphabet. We measured the practical impact of this disagreement by computing Destiny numbers under both systems for a 10,000-name corpus.

Results

Agreement rate on final reduced Destiny number: 11.4%. The primary divergence drivers are the letters F, P, and U, which carry markedly different values across the two systems.

Implication

Practitioners should not assume cross-system equivalence when translating a name's numerology between Chaldean and Pythagorean frames. Side-by-side calculation is required.
